Prelude
I heard it many times. So many times that makes me want to scream out lout to those dissatisfied lad. Why Indon bands? Why not Malaysian?
Interlude
The earlier posts was referring to Awie’s response during an interview with Melody (TV3) recently.
Postlude
And my rambling was referring to his defensive atitude.
Peace.

Yes rock is universal and it had evolved to a multi-tune for example, experimental rock, let alone alternative punk-rock genre. This is especially true after the 1990s. Group A music’s imitated/influenced by Group B’s tunes. The former then tries to differentiate their tunes and eventually came up to a mixture of rock, punk, alternative here and there. Some succeeded undoubtedly and mostly failed in a sense that they’re a mere ‘one-hit wonder’. There were also cases where, for example, Metallica strived pretty hard after their Black album (of which I still enjoy until today – tunes like Enter Sandman, Don’t Tread On Me just to name a few) where they tried to fight not to join the so-called pop, western mainstream music and but eventually had to ’surrender’ and later on were ‘denounced’ by their very own die-hard fans.
In Malaysia, rock bands, which were heavily influenced by Scorpions, Motley Crue, Poisons, Black Sabbath and many more to add to the list. This band bloomed in the 80s and before 1990 (Search, Rusty Blade etcs) and their tunes are not mistakenly rocked our ears and generation during that time. BUT, after that rock and rockers (especially the new ones) in Malaysia, to be frank, sucks! Mostly their tunes are dull, stereotype and evolved around the same theme of lovesick and broken love and all that sort of thing, if you know what I mean. Indonesian rock music? Their music compositions and arrangement are mostly well tuned up except for the band Radja which reminded me of Ukay’s and the others that sung the same tunes of rubbish.
